Swap and Save, the Green Way

by Anna@Green Talk on June 28, 2008

Swap and Save is a video on Current.com featuring several websites on how to save some green by being green. Why buy new when there is so much treasure out there for the swapping?

Current.com is “about what’s going on in your world: all the things you and your friends are actually interested in — that you won’t find on any other news site or cable TV channel.” You can watch it online or on your television. Check the site for the channel from your service provider.

On the video, the following websites are featured:

Freecycle (International). See my article here about this swapping site.

Swishing (Uk based0

WhatsMineIsYours (UK based)

Liftshare (UK based)

Freebieworld.co.uk

As the commentator in the video states, ” you will never need moola again!”

Some other sites swapping sites to check out:

Swaptree (multi-media swapping).

MyFashionSwap ( clothes swapping-US based. Some fees apply.)

Plant Swap (forums for plant swapping)

So, tell me which swapping websites are your favorites and why? If you have a favorite swapping place, let me know too!

Freecyle rocks! I have found my local freecycle to be the best way to swap items.

BrassicPark.com is a free-to-use site for swapping books, CDs, DVDs, games and software, quickly and easily. Titles can be exchanged internationally or locally, either by mail or by hand. This site has one eye on saving money and one eye on saving the environment. Worth a look.
