A Interior Design Video Worth Salivating Over

by Anna@Green Talk on July 1, 2008

I just received an invitation to join a facebook group called “Green by Design.” This group is for all of us who love green architecture or interior design.  For those readers who do  not know my obsession with green design, I love fabric and furniture and written about here and here.

On the site was this terrific video presented by the Resource Design Lab created by FRCH Design Worldwide to inspire interior designers to go green with some great products. (The Resource Design Lab is a blog featuring the latest news on design products and trends as well as resource for FRCH Design Worldwide employees. FRCH is a commerical design firm.)

I  wish that the firm could have insterted text telling us the names of the products featured. Many of the products I think I recognized and others I did not. FRCH is obviously in the know of green design.

Watch this video and get inspired. Remember being green is beautiful!

If you know any of these products on the video, then leave a comment so Green Talk readers could nod their heads and say “so that’s what that product was” after they watched the video. Are there any shown on the video that you particularly like?

Hey Anna! Thanks for the love! If anyone has any questions about the materials I’d be happy to answer them. Our goal was to inspire and to communicate that as you said ‘being green is beautiful’!

Some fantastic ideas. Looking to do some interior work of my own once winters over, so just doing some research now. Also I can’t hear any music, I’m hoping it’s some problem with the video and not me…..

LOL about our music choice! That’s pretty much the sentiment that came from our IT guys when they were testing the presentation.

I have just learned alot about green products from a manufacturer of bamboo bath towels who approached me recently to sell them on my site. It inspired me to seek out more green product suppliers and I came across Padama’s Plantation, who is a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council. I have replaced almost all of my former contemporary furniture with their designs, which are beautiful.

I’d love to post a copy of this video on our website (www.HomeSavvi.com), but I think I would be violating our own terms of use with the music. :-) There are defintely some cool looking materials on there. We are trying to get homeowners to be more aware of green material options so they create a demand on designers and builders.

Does your firm only work with commercial interiors?

Hi Anna! Yes, we only do commercial interiors, mainly retail and hospitality. It’s an absolute blast to work here! My job is to do sustainable materials research and it’s a great passion of mine.

This article is very valuable . Because in a time like this we are going through a lot of environmental pollutions. By using such procedures as mentioned above it will cause a reduction of these problems by some amount . Even though its very percentage together we can work it out one day. Keep writing stuff like this. Cheers
