Charlene, thanks for the compliment. Your post of building your own kitchen cabinets is really intriguing for many DIYers. Anna

I wish I had "googled" organic and DC before I went. Then, I would have found your post. Did I miss a major green venue besides the buffalo grass?...I know, some come to see Lincoln. I came to see the buffalo grass (sigh.) Anna

Thanks for your excellent post about our fair city. I'm a HUGE fan of Sweetgreen and their delightful yogurt. Next time you come to DC, check out my blog for a list of other local organic/natural restaurants and shops: http://goinggreendc.wordpress.com.

Cheers!

I love SweetGreen - great salads. That toy store is a sister store to an organic kids' clothing store. Both have good stuff but are very spendy. re: the solar trash cans, they lock shut when they are full? so the folks sticking their trash next to them had no choice...we have a couple at our local playground and people tie trash bags to the fence next to them 'cause of this prob. Maybe the contractor needs to empty them more. Glad you enjoyed your trip to DC! Apparently there are more types of flowering plants here than anywhere else in the world cause of all the diplomat gifts....
