Enjoying Chocolate without Gaining an Ounce

Owner Lisa Francoise Schafer offers a sweet giveaway!

From the sound of the title, I don’t know about you, but I would shove my way to the front of the line for that type of chocolate indulgence.  So, what product can allow me to indulge my chocolate fantasy and not gain one itsy bitsy ounce of weight?  Sweet Beauty Spa Organic Chocolate Body products.  I want to say sweet, but that would be too punny even for me.

I encountered Sweet Beauty Spa products as a pleasant surprise.  After indulging in too many tasty chocolate morsels during the NYC Chocolate Show, I needed some much needed R & R for my tired sugar filled body. Lo and behold, right by the Theo Chocolate’s booth was Sweet Beauty Organic Chocolate Spa products with women milling around it like bees to honey. They were testing the creme on their hands and smelling the body products.

So what was all the fuss? Sweet Beauty uses Theo chocolates, an organic, free trade chocolate in their products and they are as yummy to eat as they are to put on your face. The Company sells a variety of products for your body with wonderful luxurious names such as Tangerine Truffle Sugar Scrub and Love Potion, dark chocolate and rose scrub.  Your face and lips need hydration.  What better way to sooth them then with the ultimate Indulge Lip Balm, a rich blend of coffee and chocolate, and Berry Face Facial Scrub, a mixture of Blueberry and Pomegranate Oils mixed with Organic Fair Trade Cocoa and Nibs.

Let’s not forget the wee ones either.  Sweet Beauty has a baby product line as well featuring Baby Balm to sooth our little ones’ rump and Baby Massage Oil, in which a few drops in the bath water will sooth his or her  irritated and dry skin.

Sweet Beauty is an outgrowth of the passion of owner Lisa Francoise Schafer for chocolate and skin care, which dates back to her pre-teen years.  Her philosophy is as follows as it pertains to her skin products:

“If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t wear it on your skin.

Beauty products should be a natural way for you to feel good.

Almost nothing makes you feel better than chocolate.”

After eying the lush, thick chocolate body products on the table that resembled melted chocolate, I had one question for Lisa. How do you stop yourself from licking the lip balm?  She replied that you may do that a couple times at the beginning, but then you stop.

She then proceeded to rub something that felt like chocolate cocoa butter on my hands.  She explained this  product was the Company’s Pot de Creme, chocolate hand and body cream. (Incidentally, this product is one of their best sellers.) It is made out of organic chocolate and infused with exotic oils known to moisturize the skin without leaving a trace.    Not only did my skin feel soft, it smelled wonderful too.  A couple times during the night I caught myself smelling my hands.

So indulge in a little chocolate and let your  skin, not your hips, enjoy the experience. Products can be purchased through these retailers and on Sweet Beauty’s website.

Lisa has been kind enough to offer the Love Potion, dark chocolate and rose scrub as a giveaway to Green Talk readers.  This contest is only open to US and Canadian residents.  All you have to do to win this giveaway is

Interesting. The chocolate is what I’m after usually not the sugar. A Hersey’s bar doesn’t really taste good, too sweet. Garden of Life makes roasted cocoa beans with hazelnuts and just a little sugar to taste. Mmmmm…just right. Kind of messy because it’s a little bag of crumbles but well worth it.
