It is all very well to mention the environment when trying to justify the high cost, and I do appreciate the Earth 16 version weighs in at 55lbs, so that's a pretty hefty amount of cardboard, but you can't attract the kind of market to start a revolution at $580. If they were manufactured in huge numbers and made by a dedicated process, then depending on the country of origin, you could sell at a fraction and still profit. If they were 1/2 to 1/3 the price, I wouldn't even be typing this post... I'd be busy ordering one. They would become the new standard, I'm sure. I'll keep an eye on the products and hope they come down in price so I don't have to wait until I can justify such cost.

I really like these, as the stackable chairs were my pet hate. I refused to allow them in my home, even though they were practical for those excess visitors. This is a great invention !

If you look around your office or home, you may find a lot of furniture that is made out of particle board. Some may have some veneer made of wood, and you may really not have any idea about the wood that is being used in the furniture. Most people end up thinking about price, not the environment, when they purchase their furniture.

Yes, constantly. Whenever we have more than 10 people to our home, I ask for extra chairs. We also have the 20 or so plastic stack chairs that take up all our precious storage space. This concept is just fantastic. I would like to view a real piece in order to assess its quality as t I do value quality over cost.
