Ask Green Talk
I can’t possibly write about all the green information I have in my head. Some of the material I write about may not be what you are looking for. I started this page so that you can ask Green Talk any green question. I will do my best to answer it. I will post the question on the Home page so others can join in as well.
If you want to ask me in private question, then send it via my contact page.

i have just recently went green and i thought what can i do about the products in my home so i searched the internet and found a website since you were on about internet green shopping. i found a website that is fairtrade that specialises in recycled products such as wooden bread baskets hand carved from recycled railway wooden beams, really interesting stuff. the website is http://www.africanworx.com check it out tell me what u think but i feel this in turn will help save rainforests and stop alot of factories that manufacture some of these products that produce high co2 emissions.
anyway check it out tell me what u think ! is this worth spending my money on ??
cheers

I checked out their website. This statement on their website that caught my eye was the following:
” You as a customer benefit from receiving luxurious quality handcrafted products, also we pay a fair trade price to the disadvantaged workers from the African villages, which in turn gives them a chance of an education and a better way of life. We donate our clothes and unwanted items from family and friends and take them out to the disadvantaged families in africa.”
Andy, it is a personal decision if you should spend your money at africanworx.com. With what little I could read on their site, they seem to employ very favorable sustainable practices in their business such as buying products made out of recyled materials, paying a fair trade price, and ensuring jobs through their money apple business for African villagers. Glad to know you have gone green, and you found Green Talk. Let us know if you buy anything from africanworx and if you feel the products is of the quality that you expect.

ordered loads of stuff really good if i say so myself monkey apples are really shiny, look good in the dining room instead of the fruit lol.
hopefully this will be a insight for more people to use these types of sites like africanworx.com and buy recycled products. i feel if everyone recycled and bought recycled products the world would be a lot cleaner.
has anyone else found sites liek this ????

I’m thinking of building a home just south of San Antonio TX and I am wondering if geothermal heating & cooling is practical in this area? zip 78214. Also I have a well that I just drilled about 150′ from the home sight ….could that be incorporated? I have about 1/2 acre pond about 500′ from my house too. Which might be more practical? Are there any geothermal companies nearby that could install it? If not could the home builder and how would he get instructions?
Please advise

Hello, I am a renter in SE PA and am wondering what I can do to make my rented home more green. So far I have changed all my lightbulbs to energy efficient bulbs, and an limiting my electricity use (as much for the environment as for my bank account!). I also keep the thermostat at about 65F. The home I’m in is a modular and is 16 years old. The windows could stand to be upgraded, as could the molding around the doors, but I’m not sure the landlord would fly with that. I am planning on purchasing outdoor solar lights, too. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thank you for your time, Jacqui.
