The Philadelphia Flower Show 2016: Unbearably Beautiful

April 13, 2016 By: Anna23 Comments

Philadelphia Flower Show

The Philadelphia Flower Show 2016 paid reverence to the National Parks.  I dream of traveling around our country to see all the parks such as Yellowstone and Yosemite.  Unlike last year’s splashy show, the foliage was natural and true to form of the parks.  Walking around the exhibits was so calming and refreshing although I did miss the color from previous years.  So come along with me as I give you a pictorial sideshow of the show.

The Philadelphia Flower Show Slideshow:

What’s a park without a moose?

Philadelphia Flower Show

What would a flower show be without flowers?  Aren’t these just beautiful?

Philadelphia Flower Show

Even Abe Lincoln’s boyhood cabin was in the show. Check out the small garden in the back of his house.  (I am garden obsessed.  But then again, you know that.)

Philadelphia Flower Show

How about this southern mansion?  Couldn’t you just picture yourself here. I  just need a porch swing, and ice tea, and I am happy.

Philadelphia Flower Show

How could we forget the waterfalls in some of our parks?

Philadelphia Flower Show

The mason bee hive, water feature, succulents in a frame, and a colonial garden just added to the magic of the show.  And by the way, my garden will never be as neat as the colonial garden featured below.  My bricks would be covered with weeds.

Our family loved Yosemite and Bryce Canyon. We also really enjoyed The Grand Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Calaveras Big Trees State Park, Sequoia National Park and Great Falls National Park in VA. All the parks are wonderful, offering different things and awesome hikes. We would go back to all of them.
    Cheers!

I visited some parks in Washington state only (I’m from Canada) and think one was Mt.Helen’s (is that right?) when I was a kid? I think the theme of this exhibit was so neat. I’d love to see a similar one for Canada!

    Your photos are beautiful!

You know I can’t even remember a national park I’ve visited. I know I have visited a few, but possibly when I was a child (so long ago- lol). My goal is to take my daughter to some national parks in the future.

this looks absolutely beautiful. My family just went to DC and we went to the Botanical Gardens. My teenage daughter spent 2 hours photographing every flower she could find! I love flowers and plants and would have such a blast at this!

Acadia National Park is the best I’ve seen so far. We spent two days with the kids. Hiking, rocky beaches, and you get the chance to see a lot of wildlife. There are several camping sites nearby. We went in the Fall, so we were able to see the foliage changing. Incredible!
