Ecobunga! Helps puts Some Green Back in Your Eco-Pocket

Ecobunga! is the newest site started by green thrifty’ners, Jennifer Hastings and Karen Schiff, to help all us to go green by listing sales, free shipping, and promotions of green products. According to the Company, a 2007 GfK Roper Green Gauge® Study indicated that over 74% surveyed said that green products are too expensive. I could have told you that without the expense of the survey.

So, let’s just get down to the nitty, gritty here. So how is Eccobunga! going to save me money? Companies add their promotions through the “add a deal,” section of the site. This is a free service. Shoppers can also contact the Ecobunga! Staff to let them know about a deal they heard about.

On the site you can either click, “Save Green” for discounts and free shipping, or “Win Green” for sweepstakes and giveaways. I happen to love freebies. Who doesn’t? Perusing the site, I could:

1. Win a tea kettle from Organic Gardening. I do like tea.

2. Enter a Jet Blue contest to win a Pruis (did that)

3. Win a folding bike giveaway by Bay Area Rapid Transit. How about this?

4. Win an 8 day trip for 2 from Numi Tea to China. Count me in!

As I continued, it just got better and better.

For those of you who are dying to know where the name Ecobunga! comes from, check out the FAQs which will give you lots of information about the site as well as the name. In addition, you can find out more information as to how the staff determines if a product is green or not.

Be sure to sign up for their weekly newsletter. Why should you be the only eco-one not saving some green?

This is a new twist on the popular freebie websites that have been around since the Web began. It’s good that someone has decide to develop this much needed green niche.
