FurtherProducts Creates Biodiesil’s Fuel and Soap from Cooking Oil

April 15, 2010 By: Anna1 Comment

Want to power up your car and  make soap from the cooking oil from your local restaurant?  Don’t laugh. FutherProducts co- founder, Marshall Dostal,  is driving all the way to the bank and NOT to the local gas station since he makes his own bio-diesel fuel from the restuarant down the street.  Well, not exactly the restaurant down the street but more upscale LA restaurants.

Can’t you just smell the oil?

And the leftover by- product of the his bio-diesel cocktail he makes?  Glycerin.

And what is made of glycerin?  Bing Bing Bing.  Finger to your nose. You got it.  Soap, hand lotion, and candles. In fact, the candles are derived from oil from Mario Batali and Nancy Silverton’s Los Angeles flagship restaurant MOZZA!

The Company adds fragrant essential oils of Bergamot, Olive and exotic grasses to the soap. Candles and lotion are priced at $24 and soap is priced at $12.50. You can buy them on the site or here. So, your the oil from your sauteed mushrooms  is now Marshall’s car fuel and someone else’s soap.  Call it pay forward in an Earthly way.

You got to love Marshall.  Do you know a “Marshall” in your life who is so creative? Readers, thoughts?

Tip from Working for the Green, a great video based site showing how people are doing the green to making the green in these unsettling economic times.  This site has great video of very ingenuous people.   Check it out.
