Give Dad a Swig for Father’s Day

June 3, 2009 By: Anna106 Comments

Father's Day Gift from Greensender

Check out my Greensender water bottle giveaway!

Every year my sister and I struggle over what to get my Dad for Father’s Day.  We always go through the same dance when that day draws near.  You know the familiar ” should we get him clothes?”  My sister then replies, ” he doesn’t need any clothes.”  We go through this question and answer period for a few minutes and always draw the same conclusion. He has everything.  So, what do you get a Dad that has everything or something that is at least useful other than a tie or shirt?

How about a Greensender personalized water bottle with a logo of his favorite past-time such as fishing or golf?    Now, there is a gift that is  good for your health as well as the planet.  Don’t you remember health class where the teacher would drum it into our heads  that you should drink at least eight glasses of water a day?  But why is having your own water bottle good for the planet?  According to the Clean Air Council, Americans throw away 2.5 million water bottles hourly. Shocking, isn’t it?

Greensender art work on reusable water bottle

So how do you order? Head on over to the bottle shop, where you can choose the color of your bottle, size, and whether you want a name on the bottle as well as the font type. Maybe you want the golf  image like the bottle shown above?  There are 20 different images to choose from. Don’t see one you like and have one that you would like to use, just contact the company.

What I love about Greensender is the ease in ordering your own personalized bottle.  Just a few clicks and your personalized bottle is done.  The cost the bottles are as follows: $18  for 17 ounce bottle, $22 for the 20 ounce bottle and $25 for the 34 ounce bottle.  If you want to personalize it, there is an additional $3 charge.  Want artwork?  Add another $3.  Since BYOB in the form of your own water bottle is so vogue these days, it pays to have it personalized so no one else can claim your bottle.

Concerned about the bottle? Each bottle is a durable aluminum Sigg bottle.  According to the Company, Sigg bottles are the number one brand of reusable water bottles in the world.   For more information about these bottle, see here.

Mini-G-Deluxe Greensender package

Greensender is not just about the water bottles.  Check out their other products: Mini G Deluxe Baby Gift Package (starting off on the right green foot…), Campus green college care package, and Company and Event gift packages.

Mike Aaron, CEO of Greensender

With all the water bottles out there, why Greensender? I have known Michael Aaron, the  CEO of the Company, for over a year  and really like his philosophy.  Plus, he always has a smile on his face every time I see him!  (Because he loves what he does. )

To kick off Father’s Day gift searching, Greensender is giving away a 20 ounce bottle with the name of your choice, color of bottle, and one of the 20 artwork designs listed on the “bottle shop” page to one lucky Green Talk reader for a dad in their lives. (This can include any male in your life who is a dad such as an uncle, husband, brother, friend, father including yourself if you are a dad.)     All you have to do is the following:

  • You must be over 18 and live in the US.
  • Leave me a comment here telling me what you love about this dad in your life.
  • To double your chances consider joining my Feedburner email list or subscribe to my RSS feed. Both subscriptions are listed on the upper right hand column. Be sure to come back and leave a separate additional comment to tell me which one you joined. If you are already a member, just say so.
  • To triple  your chances of winning, twitter about this contest and come back and leave a separate additional comment of the url (weblink) of your twitter comment.
  • You must enter by Thursday,  June 11, 2009  6 PM EST  to win. A winner will be chosen at random on Friday, June 12, 2009.   Good Luck everyone.
  • Note:  Due to the time constraints of the contest, you may not be able to give the bottle to your “dad” in your life on Father’s Day.

Love the Greensender water bottle concept but don’t want to bank on winning the Contest?  Or need it in time for Father’s Day? (Order by:  Monday the 8th for West Coast orders and Wednesday the 10th for East Coast orders to guarantee delivery prior to Father’s Day.)  Maybe you are thinking about graduation or teachers’ gifts?  Whatever the reason, head over to the website and order which bottle you like.  While you are there, just enter “GreenTalk” in the Special Instructions box and the Company will include a Greensender organic cotton t-shirt with your order.  Be sure to include your size and gender to receive the appropriate size t-shirt.

So, if you are like me who struggles with Father’s Day, birthday or graduation presents, a Greensender bottle is the perfect gift!

    Hey,

I am still on the search for a cool Fathers Day gift, I have had a couple of ideas, but still not decided quite yet. I really need to get my thinking cap on soon. I think I may have my card idea sorted, so at least that is one less thing to worry about. Dad is always on his computer playing card games and puzzles, so I think I might try and send him an eCard this year. I spent ages on the net trying to find a site I liked and have come across a cool Fathers Day e-Card site which is free. I had never sent an eCard before, so I was glad this site made it really easy to choose and send a card. I was pleased to see a large range of Father’s Day cards too. There are loads of sites out there so it is definitely worth trying some out and seeing what you like.

He has always dealt with life’s struggles better than anyone in his circumstances could, and made sure that we were not affected at all! He has sacrificed his youth bringing us up, and taught us what selfless love really means! He is the best dad!

My dad could fix just about anything which showed me that I should fix things instead of throwing them out. More importantly my dad taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to and if I can’t do it in the same way as everyone else, I can do it I just need to find another way.

He pitches in with putting our daughter to sleep, making dinner, cleaning, etc. I don’t know how he does it all, but he is awesome! He loves my Sigg and actually “stole” it to have at work. The dad is a child’s and mom’s dream. He’s a hard worker, both at his job and around the house. The kids’ faces light up when he pulls into the driveway after work, and he always takes a few moments to greet them and hug them in spite of the fact that his work is physical and what he probably need most is a little down time to unwind. He’s an ideal role model for his little girls. If they use him as the measure of a man, they will make wise choices when they start looking for mates.

It’s been a hard road for my dad and I. I hadn’t spoke to him in years when, all of a sudden, I found someone hit my car and drove away. I was devastated: I had no money for the deductible and I felt powerless. I called my dad up crying and he told me to not worry, he’d take care of things because that’s what dads do. Ever since then, he’s been there. It’s been uncomfortable, but that that discomfort is slowly fading away. I don’t know if I can give a hug, but I can give a gift to say thank you and that is easier.

After escaping Vietnam and coming to America with my mom after the war that he fought in and was imprisoned in for some years, and all that he’s been through since coming to America has made him strong and I admire his strength. I will never understand the trials that he endured to be where he is today but I am proud to be his daughter.

My husband is the most wonderful dad in the world. He is the wisest, kindest, most patient and loving man I know. And he is an amazing grandpa too. He loves spending time with our grandsons, fishing and hiking.

My dad is seriously one of the best people I’ve ever met. He always seems to know when I am stressed out with work or class, and always calls at just the right time to reassure me.

I love my daughter’s Dad (my husband) because he works so hard for us. In addition to working full time he is remodeling our house on his days off. He still finds time though to play and bond with our baby. He is truly the best.

I would love to win this for my sister’s husband.
From what Ive seen, he is an amazing father, and an amazing husband to my sister. Every mothers day I do something for my sister because she helped raise me, but I always forget my brother in law, come Father’s Day.

My Dad is my best friend and we’ve always had fun together. I’m the middle of 3 girls and was his tom-boy and we would always go fishing together. He had always given me the courtesy of listening to my side no matter how wrong I was and has always been there for me. He’ 81 now and I cherish each day that we have together.

What I love best about the Dad in my life is that he came late into my life, but is still the Best Dad a girl could ever have. He accepts me for who i am,and doesn’t expect me to change for his benefit.
