Can man survive? Great free giveaway. See details below.

The Ovum Factor is a new novel by author, businessman, and publisher, Marvin L. Zimmerman, in which he depicts the inevitable consequences if we do not change to halt our destructive ways towards the Planet. The back cover reveals the following plot:

“Destruction of Earth’s ecology threatens the survival of humanity. With time ticking away, a clandestine think tank of leading scientists and world leaders has identified our last hope-the controversial research of the Noble Prize-winning professor aimed at unleashing the power of a unique molecule that can alter the course of human history.

When David Rose, a young investment banker from New York, is assigned to evaluate the professor’s research, he soon becomes swept up in a whirlwind of international espionage, assignation, and sabotage. David finds himself on a journey that takes him to the unexplored depths of the Amazon in order to fulfill two ancient prophecies for saving mankind and at the same time to realize his own destiny….”

As a life long environmentalist and world traveler, Zimmerman has witnessed man’s destruction of the planet. He hopes that this intriguing novel reminds us how delicate the Earth is and how essential it is to protect our natural resources. He is the publisher and editor of “INMR Quarterly Review,” an international journal in the field of transmission of electric energy as well as the principal of Zimmerman Consulting, Ltd., which provides consulting services in marketing and business strategy.

Mr. Zimmerman’s publicist, Phenix & Phenix, has kindly given me a novel to giveaway to one of my readers. This novel sounds like the type that you will not be able to put down. Whoever wins this giveaway must promise to give us a review. Given the author’s scientific and business background, you will be in for a realistic adventure wondering whether mankind can be saved.

Here are the rules. I can only send the novel to a domestic address and the contest ends 6 PM Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Please tell me your favorite nature spot and why. It may be as simple as your backyard or Niagara Falls.

For those of you who do not win, you can buy the book at Amazon.

For a review of this book, visit Eco-Libris’ blog. Consider offsetting your book purchases by donating a $1 per book to this terrific organization to plant trees.

In addition, see Rebecca’s interview with Marvin Zimmerman about the book on her blog, Paperback Writer.

Note: deadline has been extended until Tuesday, April 15 to win this great book!

My favorite spot is Baird Creek Wildlife Preserve here in Green Bay. My husband and I walk the trails a lot and we have seen bucks, doe, fawns, red fox, raccoon prints, and many species of flowers and birds. I love it dearly.

My favorite nature spot is my wooded backyard. With a bird feeder just off my patio at the edge of the woods, there is always an abundance of birds waiting for their turn. Squirrels jump to the feeder but don’t eat the seeds because they are mixed with cayenne pepper. It’s an absolutely beautiful, calming place to be and oh so close to every modern amenity.
