Top 5 Commercial Green Design Picks by Organic Architect Freed

Previously, I interviewed Eric Corey Freed, the Organic Architect on his top five green residential design picks.  I couldn’t let him go without asking his top five green commercial design picks.  He didn’t disappoint me.  Watch the below video or podcast as Freed explains why he love his top five picks.

Just as an aside, Freed’s choices do not lack from luster.  His choices reflect that green is beautiful and does not in any way detract from the design process.  As many of you know I love green design, especially fabric.  So, I truly loved his choices.

Top Five Picks:

  1. 3-Form EcoResisn.  He uses this product in almost every project he does due to its versatility.
  2. MioCulture Foldscape Ceiling Tiles.  Great way to hide a drop ceiling and extremely easy to assemble.
  3. DaisyCake Suspended Chains.   Great room divider and interesting wall art.  You can design a company logo into the chains.
  4. Wave Paneling offered via 3D Panelling and modularArts.   Can be used for paneled wall and cabinet fronts.  It is the type of product that everyone wants to touch.
  5. Baltix Work Stations. Uses agricultural wastes to make interesting work station.

Make sure you listen towards the end of the video as Freed provides advice to other architects or engineers to persuade people to build or design green.

What an exciting time in design! I thought bamboo floor and grassy wallpaper were your only choices in sustainable decor — but the choices seem endless now.

      Anne,

I agree. Eric showed me only his five loves. Can you imagine how much is out there? By the way, love grassy wallpaper. Anna

We have a resting place outside our house, it’s in the garden actually. In Asia they call it Nipa house. It’s made of bamboo and the roof is made of palm leaves.
