Green Talk community reader love

I love my readers.  I truly do.  When I send out an email with a question, I inevitably receive the best responses.  So, my recent question was how was your June?  Mind you I was complaining like a little girl about how pathetic my garden looked.  The rain is killing me. Young Plant Protection

Why does gardening bring out the inner Rambo in me?  I am constantly fighting with the squirrels, the slugs, and the rabbits.  They eat my young plants.  I swear one day there is a sunflower seedling.   *Poof,* it is gone.  (And we aren’t talking Fairy Godmother stuff here.)  Well, the infuriated got resourceful.  And guess […]

Sorrel Recipes

No other reason.  For the last five years, I would simply eat the fresh leaves and never thought of cooking with it.  Until this year.  So, I went scrounging […]

Reusable Bottle vs Plastic Water Bottle

The setting:  Las Vegas.  The event:  the  featherweight bottle boxing championship of the world.   The reigning champ, the ever popular, convenient Plastic Water Bottle, versus the durable stainless steel Klean Kanteen Reusable Water Bottle.  (Think Rocky Balboa vs Apollo Creed)  During the training sessions, the Reusable Water Bottle is nimble and strong as a bull showing […]
